About Us at Angelsun





1. First and foremost; a dog must be sound in mind and body. We believe in the head to tail approach--Beautiful Head (Note that I stated Head, not Headpiece.), Correct Pigment, Sound Mind, Length of Neck, Solid Topline, Correct Coat and Ring Tail. As form follows function; correct structure forms the basis for proper movement.

We do not tease hair on top of our Afghan Hound's heads, nor legs, nor anywhere--NEVER. We do not back brush. We never use hairspray on our hounds. What you see is what it is.

Health Testing provides a snapshot into consideration for a breeding program, however; one needs to take a look at the total picture beyond test results ~ the majority of which are not DNA conclusive. Pedigrees must also be carefully evaluated including not only direct lineage but also siblings and offspring.

2. There is a difference between a show dog and a dog that can be shown and finished. Therefore; it would follow that show dogs and pet dogs exist in ALL litters regardless of pedigrees and ancestral titles.

It is our concern that any of our animals are placed into the BEST homes where they will receive proper care and attention. Titles are a secondary consideration. Dogs at Angelsun are always kept in the house and are part of the family.

3. We believe in the Owner Handler and that Owner Handled Dogs provide a much more accurate appraisal of dogs that have received awards based Soley upon Merit.

We believe in dressing with taste and modesty.

We believe in the ethical choice of judges which would mean recusing oneself from exhibiting to breeders of the exhibit, sire or dam, or other close relative. It should go without saying that club officers and board members should recuse themselves from exhibiting at shows that the club sponsors. It would be even more ethical to recuse oneself for the entire circuit. It eloquently makes my point when a dog wins a 5 point major at a Specialty under one's friend yet can't win at an All Breed Show. Enough said.

We believe that stating "Thank You" to a judge is the proper acknowlegement and anything beyond is bribery.

We believe in a Sporting Attitude; this includes offering congratulations in person and NOT making derogatory comments in person or on social media. We have a zero tolerance policy for bullying or harassment.

4. Last but not least; we believe in the dogs themselves and attention to detail. Sound minds exude confidence be it human or canine.

At the end of the day, we are glad to be bringing our dog home with us ~ either a Win Day or Losing in Style.

Kaitlin is the Owner/Manager of a Designer Nail Spa. Her work has been featured in National Publication multiple times and in back to-back to-back issues. She was also selected as a Noteworthy Entry (In the top 20) from an Elite group of Professionals from Around the World in Nails Magazine Annual Cover Contest in the January 2014, 2015 & 2016 issues.

While a variety of show photos may be seen here, we recognize that show careers are short. Therefore; the camera is focused primarily on candid shots of life at home, as our dogs are first and foremost our beloved companions.
